For those of you that live close to me and are at a loose end tomorrow afternoon, you are more than welcome to come to Waterlooville and District Open Gardens.

There are five gardens open from 2- 4.30 with the 6th garden being opened at 4.00 to serve tea, coffee and cake.

It will cost £3.50 to visit all 6 gardens and the ticket gets you a free cup of tea and slice of cake.

My post code is PO8 9TD. I live 8 miles south of Petersfield and 13 miles north of Portsmouth, just off the A3.

There are plants for sale at some of the gardens.

See you tomorrow.

That sounds like a very nice Sunday afternoon out - I wish I lived closer. I used to have relatives at Petersfield and had many happy visits there. Hope the day goes well for all the 'garden openers' - good luck.

Everything went well. Lots of people comming and going all afternoon. I got to meet Dottydaisy and her husband, who came for a look around (lovely couple). I didnt get any bad comments so obviously everyone was being nice, some even bought some of my plants although I did have a lot so its had too see exactly what was sold.
I must thank my sister and husband who came down from Oxford to help out, as well as all the members of my garden club who took part in opening their gardens for the afternoon.
I think I have convinced my wife that with a little bit of work we might be able to open for the NGS if they will have us. I will have to make that phone call.

Congratulations on your good turnout. Hope you are successful in applying to NGS. I wish we had neighbours interested in doing something similar.
