Actually I've said many times on this site, that I love wild flowers better than the cultivated ones. I leave many weeds because I think they're pretty :o)

I was surprised that only two people asked for some of my corncockle seeds - they are every bit as good as other garden annuals.

always great to see the lil things... the cycle of food, soil health, indigenous ecosystems... all rely on beautiful balance.. wisdom we aspire to. I think we too.. have a place here.. and with all our turning of rocks and soil, we can become a part of a whole... knowing that in our humble efforts to maintain beauty, we are at the mercy of our great mother nature. I came to this conclusion as I spent the first year at my lil house trying to maintain an aesthetic watercourse by moving rocks around in my little creek, cascades which I would build for weeks, only to have a great flood return the creek back to it's natural state. I placed an old limestone tile next to the creek and simply wrote "the river has her way".. it reminds me that while I can place things here and there... that no examination of myself or my garden can detach one from it's original form and nature... and most importantly to me it seemed.. it's destiny. Wild things are always wild, even when they are displayed in a pot sunning themselves in ease, their memory is one of growing in snow and rock. Their memory is one of strength and survival, beauty and place. Hallelujah. Wild things grow.
