That’s about the perfect temperature. Or 27C in European.
I looked at the long range and this weekend might be the last one until April. A possible fluke 80f in late February..but that’s not something to count on.
October is a good month..mild. November starts out nice..and about the 3rd week of the month our rainy season gets going.
THEN,Ma nature and I go mano e mano in December..my tropical’s and her attempts to imitate Christmas card cold. The blankets for me and plants are readied!
That is always the time of year when its really amazing tropical plants can take that cold day and night for weeks.
With plants you can do the tropical look outdoors..but not with birds, fish or animals. Its the plants that take you away to warmer climate dreams, tropical dreams.
Why I have them I suppose.

wish we had 27c its 15 here today and that feels relatively warm as there is a chilly wind. no rain at the moment but very heavy yesterday.

lets hope mother nature is a bit kinder to you this year stan.

I wouldn't mind 27c for a few weeks in summer, never mind winter !!! Derek.

12 Oct, 2017

Mornings have been chilly lately. After weeks of morns in the 16C range,we are seeing 9C. Sunny, and its warming the day. But 16 sure beats 9...
Summer does go by too fast.

12 Oct, 2017

27° Gosh I'd be thrilled to bits to have that here, in summer lol!!

12 Oct, 2017

Andy in San Diego can have temps like that any time of the year. But Waddy, the bay area has a colder Pacific ocean current off its shores- that pretty much divides our climate range. It helps protects against big freezes, but also holds down the temps in summer.
But!..GW or Urban warming..We have seen some warm late January and into February spells. Sure nice to feel a warm breeze by February. Even if for just 2 or 3 days.

12 Oct, 2017

we are still getting the southerly flow from all the storm activity downsouth... It's slowly changing though... frost last night, crisp wind today, long range forecast says we'll have low twenties C. temps for the next five days... Leaves me puzzled. Is this the new normal? We have had cold springs and warm autumns for the last 4 years. Enjoy your warmth.

12 Oct, 2017

lol Your lucky Stan here its 11c as I said to Andy I dont think you s would be able to with stand our winters here .

12 Oct, 2017

Cloudy here in the sunny UK South. Temperature around 15. Not bad for October and we have had some really sunny days, better than our awful August.

Seasons are really erratic the last few years.

See that we are to expect heavy rain and a hurricane tail-end (?) from Monday!

13 Oct, 2017

I dont even like our winters. I'm not a fan of chilled hands and cold morning bathrooms. Like a morgue.
In mid winter,I count down the days until real warm returns.

13 Oct, 2017

Dont you have central heating Stan to keep your home warm.

14 Oct, 2017

On no. Just a wall heater Penny. Space heaters if needed in the bedroom.
Same for the air con. A window type works well enough. We don't have the high heat (30-35C) for long periods. That air doesn't get put on until the evening even if then.

14 Oct, 2017

I thought your weather was warm most of the time how wrong was I. For years I use to have to light coal fires or wood fires and light an arga a range to get my hot water I had to clean the flue every 3 days least you would get blow back of soot every six months I had to clean the chimneys with a brush attached to bamboo rods screwed together until the brush poked out the top of the chimney coal or wood fires which I much prefer to be honest but now most homes here have central heating radiators in every room which are filled with water once and circulates re using the same water heated by gas or some have underfloor heating some do still have gas fires or coal mainly wood burners . Some do have wall heaters like your self. I am shocked you dont have central heating there

Yes even I and a lot of oap s here cant afford to have heating on most of the day we cant afford it.

I know it's been pretty hot up there, lately. It's been way too hot here. Monday and Tues was 100ºF (38ºC), it's been hot since last Saturday. It will cool down by Friday, then by Saturday the heat will be up again and 100ºF (38ºC) will be back for Sunday and Monday. UGH! This heat is burning my plants.

19 Oct, 2017

It might rain today. Its cloudy and cool. After this,we build to maybe one 80f next week. Not bad. October is still growing plants.
Penny..we have mild winters but not tropical or even semi tropical. Its basically a mild temperate climate with a warming over the last few decades.

19 Oct, 2017

It's suppose to be cooler tomorrow here, also...then all Hell breaks loose! We're under excessive heat watches starting on Saturday or Sunday with temps exceeding 105ºF is forecasted through Tuesday for most of San Diego County. Upper 90's for along the coast.

Actually, the SF Bay Area is broadly classified as a mild subtropical climate. If you look at the subtropic zone it starts just north of San Francisco and then drops far south through the extreme southern states and exits around Savannah, Georgia.

20 Oct, 2017

I see its been ferociously hot your way Andy. I would welcome a warm breeze in the morn or evening again.
We had a brief but heavy rains last night. It came on strong for what seemed like only 10-15 minutes of strong winds, rains. It was the middle of the early morn so I cant verify how long. Half asleep-lol.
Monday and Tuesday we start back the warm. Today? Coolest day since spring. But,sunny.

20 Oct, 2017

Yes, the heat is coming! I was nice yesterday...a few very small showers in the morning. It was pretty cool, also. Today the warm up starts. It'll stay hot through Wednesday then start cooling down again.

21 Oct, 2017

ha! Same here, but hot for here is 80-89f. Mornings in the cool still, at 50f or 10C.
I wish I could get one more flush out of the Mango. I remember two years ago a guy wrote that his Los Angeles Mango was flushing after Christmas. I looked back at 2015- and in January we had a high of 77f that I think you know is like 1,000f happening in San Diego..rare.
2014 and 2015,were real examples of climates changing. In a lifetime.

21 Oct, 2017

Starting on Monday morning we are under Excessive Heat Warning for all of San Diego County.

2013 through 2016 were very hot, dry winters. I know the mango trees flowered in January and February. Last year was the first year that we haven't had warm to hot weather in January (since I moved here in 2000). I think 2005 was another year, also.

22 Oct, 2017

2005 was a rainy year. Why do I remember? Because I posted on cloudforest board that our lowest low for the winter was 35f. No freezes, not even a light frost. I hoped it would be like that from that point on...but it didnt!

22 Oct, 2017

Yes, winter of 2004/2005 was San Diego's second rainiest winter on record. We had so, so much rain! It did break the other 6 year drought, though. There was a very strong Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) that winter.

22 Oct, 2017

Mon-Tues-Wed-Thurs all supposed to range from 80-89. The last would be record warm.
I say that a lot. Not often -or lately- have we had a coldest ever day.

23 Oct, 2017

It's been extremely hot here in San Diego. Lots of record warmth today...many temps 100 to 105, tomorrow even hotter. It's so hot tonight (many temps still in the mid-80's at 11:30 p.m.) I can't believe it's the end of October..

24 Oct, 2017

We set a record- 91f. You want to here weird climate change? at 9am at Moss Beach this morning it was 80f! San Francisco 75f and Richmond 78f. Hayward only 68f..not much of a breeze. But,we catch and pass them today soon.
80f in the morning. Andy- do you know the morning low in Hawaii today was 59f? and cold(4 them) rains!

24 Oct, 2017

I know the mornings have been very warm to hot here. It's been 90 degrees by 8:30 or 9:00 a.m. here the last few days.

I've never hear of 59 degrees in Hawaii in October. I told someone on the palm site I didn't believe it...that it must be a glitch. I don't ever remember it being so cold in October. They said it was in Honolulu. I don't think Honolulu would ever be so cold in October! Maybe it was at a higher elevation?

25 Oct, 2017

No,the local ch2 guy said that our record High, pushed cold storms straight to Hawaii. It was 59 and rain.
88f today. I'm loving it. !

26 Oct, 2017

It was 103ºF or possibly a few degrees warmer here today. It's a little cooler right now at 6:30 p.m. only 90ºF (much cooler than last night).

That's so wild about how cold it was in Honolulu! I really didn't believe it!

26 Oct, 2017

Last night at 9pm? It was a balmy 73f. It stayed in the 70 range until midnight. So,it was a nice evening to be out.
Next week it all ends..maybe for good. Still one Mango hanging green on the tree.
I can hardly wait until next spring.

26 Oct, 2017

That is really warm for the SF Bay Area in late October. It's been really hot here at night, also. 80's and 90's at 11:30 p.m. is pretty extreme for this time of night in late October, for San Diego, also.

27 Oct, 2017

WeatherUnderground said Honolulu was 57. Accuweather said 58f,and Weather Channel said 66f for Tuesday. Who knows? Maybe different weather stations?

I tried checking out the Honolulu Express online. They don't even bother having a weather page. Everyday is warm.

27 Oct, 2017

I saw the weather station from Honolulu International (the official weather station of Honolulu) there was a low of 57 degrees on October 24, 2017. I'm still in awe of this low temp in Honolulu! I wouldn't be as surprised if it happened on December 24th.

28 Oct, 2017

Well,Andy did I tell you Half Moon Bays low that day was 80f? Crazy.
2 days ago we hit 80f..and that looks like the end until..Well,it could be late Jan if the perfect mix of high and winds...but usually March.

30 Oct, 2017

Yes, you never know what's going to happen with this crazy weather! I know we're not done with the 80's, which we have have anytime of the year. Most likely 80's will return here in November, December, January and February.

30 Oct, 2017

Today is the last day of the year we AVERAGE 70f (20C)-ha. October 30th our historic average is 70f. Tomorrow its 69f. Summer is gone.

30 Oct, 2017

It's cooled down quite a bit here. It feels good! Yay!

69ºF is very comfortable! :>))
