I'd rather play!

I was told to sit here while she waved that camera about again!

Well, I will, because at least he’s put that dreadful lawn mower away – he knows I don’t like it!

How long do I have to sit here? Just because she cut all the edges…

I’m off – let’s do something else now!

Come and play with me now – you could throw my ball for me!

What do you mean – you’re tired and you need a sit-down? I want to play – pleeeease??

Yes, it is - and thanks!

It really was too hot for Henry to be running about, let alone me! We were forecast rain for today, but we only got a few spots. :-(

Irrisistable! Come on Spritz - throw his ball! He'll soon get hot and tired and will settle in the shade and you can pick up your coffee and newspaper again.

3 Jul, 2009

Poor Henry. I hope you did throw a ball for him in the end. He's been very patient with you and deserves a reward :o)

3 Jul, 2009

Naughty mummy, won't play ball :((( (lol !!!)

Perhaps he'd like to play ball with us next Tuesday Spritz, amongst the plants etc, that'd get us barred for life !!! LOL
Heck, can't afford for that to happen :))))

Spritz and i are meeting up at our local garden centre next Tuesday ......

What a fine fellow Henry is. Our cat makes a hasty exit when she spots the lawnmower. The new bed looks fantastic.

3 Jul, 2009

It's coming on, isn't it? I'm pleased with it. :-)

Henry runs away from the mower - he used to bark at it!

He has been indoors most of the time in the hot weather - his choice! I don't think it's good for him to dash about in the heat, so no ball until it cools down! He gets his walk before breakfast when it's cooler.

Still only a sprinking of rain since we had that storm last week.

3 Jul, 2009

I think Henry might not be able to take his eyes off that lovely new flower bed and just wants to sit and admire it. I would, but then I'm not a dog!

3 Jul, 2009

Poor Henry - just look at that adorable face! But you're quite right not to let him run about in this heat. Heard of a couple of cases of dogs with severe heatstroke in my area this week and they had only been walking in the park. My Huxley has just been loving lying in front of the fan this week - but he is getting on a bit, so any excuse for a wee snooze!

3 Jul, 2009

lots of rain here today spritz, just come sunny now

3 Jul, 2009

The new bed looks great - already starting to fill out.

3 Jul, 2009

I put a pot of lilies in, and the pot keeps falling over! The pot's too big to sink into the ground. I've weighted it down with stones now.

3 Jul, 2009

AAAhhhh poor Henry.... i think he makes a lovely new bed model.... the new bed is stunning btw Spritz... no really i love it..... lovely curvey edges, great colour combos 11/10
:-)

4 Jul, 2009

Thanks, Angie. I've been adding things! I had a pot of Feverfew and I've put that in, plus the Coreopsis that have been growing on from plugs - 'Jive' and 'Limbo'.

5 Jul, 2009

sounds lovely Spritz. :-)

6 Jul, 2009

What a lovely garden....love the way that border curves.....hope Henry is a good "garden" pooch....he certainly is a cutie....and likes the camera too...

6 Jul, 2009

His worst habit is pinching stones that I dig up and running off with them! The he barks because he wants me to throw the stones for him to retrieve. Well - he is a retriever, after all! lol.

Thanks for commenting on the curves - Husband and I spent ages laying the sticks out to get them right! They had to 'match' other curves near them. Maybe I'm too fussy, but I wanted it to look pleasing from all angles.

6 Jul, 2009

As a labrador fan, I love Henry - they are such lovely natured dogs arent they. I hope he appreciates his beautiful garden?
Spritz: Is your obelisk a Gardman one?

7 Jul, 2009

No, I got it from 'Ferndale Lodge' - their catalogue. It arrived very quickly!

7 Jul, 2009

Thanks Spritz, I'll take a look :-)

7 Jul, 2009

Sorry - I should have said - Henry is a lucky dog, and I know he does like the garden. If we go to our daughter's, as soon as he gets home, he dashes all round the whole garden to make sure it's still here! He also does a routine tour every morning after breakfast. Then he sits in the middle of the path and surveys the landscape!

7 Jul, 2009

Good to know that Henry checks his territory out on a regular basis, Bonnie isnt a dog that barks alot but if something is out of the ordinary, she sure let's us know.
I've visited the Ferndale Lodge site and found the obelisk, thank you.

7 Jul, 2009

Good. Not a bad price, are they?

By the way, is that you on your new pic??

7 Jul, 2009

The obelisk looks great, thanks, may have to get one.

Yes Spritz, that is me, thought it was time for a change :-)

8 Jul, 2009

It's a good picture, Dawn - I had to have a passport photo taken today - it's horrible... :/Z (That's meant to be a sort of pained scowl!)

8 Jul, 2009

Thanks Sprtiz - I hate passport photos, I'm never ready for the flash and want to laugh but not allowed to, lol.

8 Jul, 2009

Ah, it was in a shop - as advised by the Post Office girl! and it was all digital, so no flashes! My photo looks AWFUL!!! Talk about doom and gloom! No smiling allowed. :-(

8 Jul, 2009

I'm not up with all this new technology. Sorry to remind you but you'll have to look at that now for the next 10 years. ha ha.
Your new bed looks good by the way - what did you set to climb the obelisk, was it clematis? thanks

8 Jul, 2009

Gee, thanks, friend!
Hehe - it's not me that has to look at it, it's the customs man and the airline check-in! Poor things.

On the obelisk are: 1. Climbing rose 'Lady Hillingdon' 2. Clematis 'Guernsey Cream' and 3. Clematis viticella 'Alba Luxurians'. The C.vit. has lots of buds! The rose had one flower, and there are buds coming, too.

8 Jul, 2009

Ha ha Spritz: Yes, quickly close the passport and put it away until next time.
Thanks for the info on the obelisk plants - may have to copy you if that's OK??

8 Jul, 2009

Of course it is! Just remember that 'Guernsey Cream is a group 2 Clematis and only needs a light prune in the spring, while the C. vit is a group 3 and has to be cut hard back.

8 Jul, 2009

You are kind, thank you so much and for the advice too :-)

8 Jul, 2009

You're welcome Dawn. :-)

9 Jul, 2009
