glad you had a great time..A lovely place..did you get across to the Islands ? We didn't get to visit the one where Monty Don,did a programme from,but went to the one next to it..only on a day trip there,so we hadn't much time..I will look forward very much to seeing your blog,and photo's ...

Yes, we did - and another garden at Pallanza, too - called 'Villa Taranto', and created by a Scot about a hundred years ago. Magic!

The garden looks a bit like a field, and the vines have changed colour already. :-O

How lovely,Barbara..Now you have whetted my appetite even more.We both love Italy very much,and were staying at Lake Como at the time..just near a ferry too,so doing a lot of tooing and froing across the lake..As you say,magic !

Without a doubt,Barbara..the trip we went on stopped in Stresa,to take us to Fisherman's Island,if I remember rightly ?We didn't look around the town much,as it was scorching hot,and only mid May....so we mainly stayed under the trees by the lakeside..

I'm sure you'd miss your lovely garden if you stayed in Italy :o)

Hmm..if my husband could cut the grass, it would look like 'my' garden again, rather than a field, Hywel. It's too wet, though. :-(

That's a shame. Maybe it will dry out enough if we get a spell of settled weather.

Lucky he did - it rained all day yesterday!

It drizzled here yesterday - on and off - but the garden was soaking. I did manage to plant some bulbs in pots in the shed, and pot up some violas that I'd bought a few days ago :o)
If we get this mild weather for a while, I suppose the lawns will need cutting for a few more weeks. I'm glad I haven't got one ...

We had a lovely day - but there was a storm in the night and today is very gloomy and damp. :-(

:o( That sounds rather unpleasant ... It's very windy here today. I did lots yesterday. It was warm and sunny ... but today I don't think I'll get much done.

I hope today is better, Hywel - there's so much to do in the garden, and I have to pace myself.

I hope you're all right. It's best to do things steadily ... not like me, rushing about, and wearing myself out ...
I'm slowly getting things done though. It's the cacti next, and then the Fuchsias. I shall have to cut some things back, but I'll leave relocating some hardy perennials, and moving my apple trees until about February I think ... if we get a few mild days then.
