Seedlings and showers :)

I can’t believe ive actually managed to get my border planted amongst all this wet weather! I had been waiting for my other half to help me put up some wooden blocks onto the fence so i could put the wire up that will support the honeysuckle.

Well i went out into the garden monday to just ponder and i thought ‘how hard can it be’
So i hacksawed myself some blocks, screwed them on by myself (after trying to locate the toolbox!) painted them and did the wire all by myself! Very proud moment :D

After that it was still dry and on a high from my achievement i did all the planting which was not easy as ever helpful other half had put a massive heavy box on top of my gardening stuff so i adopted the canine digging fashion to get them all in the ground!

My seedlings are coming on well, ive got 8 sweet peppers going on the windowsill alongside few sweet peas, some are hardening off and the rest still inside, poached egg plant in my hanging baskets and ive got a couple of scabious seedlings which im quite excited about. I love my pin cushions and cant wait to see if i can grow some more!
The only things left to get in the ground is the amelanchier and the bugle. I’m looking forward to this summer more and more wondering how everything will look when its flowering and such.

Oh and a disaster this morning! I came home to find the piggies run had been blown over, im not sure how this happen because is wasnt laying against the fence it was in its square form and had been blown right on top of my pyracantha!!!

Poor thing was practially horizontal! Apart from a damaged branch and now sitting slightly wonky i think its ok :S ive propped it up with a cane and moved the offending run! Dont like that thing anyway, currently in thinking stage of creating a semi-permanent run which is my easier on the eye and which is big enough for the mini-mowers.

Anyway watch this space!

Yes, we'll done! Nothing like doing-it-yourself. My wonderful son-in-law who can turn his hand to anything, just smiles at my efforts, but mainly says nothing, bless him. He did one day, however, enquire politely, 'Is that trellis just tied to the fence with string?'

Well done for having a go yourself, Smoo! It just shows you we women don't always need the other half to do stuff for us :) Now, if you could just send some of that dry weather to Derbyshire so I can get some plants in I'd be most grateful!
