Garden's New Look 2010

We were unsure whether the changes would work but pleased now that we can see the results of the tidying up we did earlier in the Spring.
These photos were taken 24 06 2010

It is easier to manage and uses less water to keep the fewer pots in good order. The plants seem happy and so are we with a lower water bill. The hose ban doesn’t apply to this part of Cumbria.

I think we have been fortunate with the refreshing rain after that long dry spell.

Amazing how the hydrangeas recovered from the frostbite! However we lost a lot of other plants.

I do hope your gardens are giving you much pleasure.

It looks lovely Simplylyn. I thought at first glance that the Clematis was Passion flower. I love that purple flowered plant, what is it S? The whole garden looks very nice indeed.

The clematis reminds me one called "Viennetta" - it's lovely. Everything, in fact, is looking good after your efforts. :-))

Thanks for your very cheering comments.
Identification of plants from top downwards.
Purple flower Celosia hobnobbing with Busy Lizzies.' Bloomer' was right.
Clematis on wall trellis - Sieboldii -' Heron' got that one!
And again.
White begonias and a pink geranium. Front - Orange lilies that turn up trumps year after year.
Busy Lizzies - good old garden fillers and the clematis leading to the fountain now switched on again.
Peering along the lower path to my little patch beyond the hand rail. Foxgloves, Aquilegia, Escolonia, Russian vine, violas, marigolds, primroses, poppies, Clematis Clotted Cream. Some hidden by the foreground plants.
Opposite end of path with violas and geraniums.
L. Honeysuckle, R. Laurel, Bay, Primroses.
Honeysuckle.
Foxglove.
L. Clematis, not as good as last year. Conifers, Marigolds, Hydrangea, Laurel.
The Celosia and Busy Lizzies showing signs of growth.
View towards bird table, see sparrows along the fence? Hostas in foreground. L. Hydrangea.
Another view of Clematis Sieboldii.
Clematis growing along (post) fence on lower level. Large pale mauve flower. no name tag.
Variegated Holly
Another Honeysuckle growing up willow trellis on side of shed.
Where shall I put these Lobelia?
One last shot of Clematis Sieboldii.

I say, it is 3 a.m. I shall end up in the shed with only bread and water!

Spot my deliberate mistake? I meant Clotted Cream is a Jasmine not a Clematis.

At least you didn't do what is usual for me - i wake up at about 3.00am having thought about something I was trying to remember, or forgot to do at work!! that's because you were still up at that time, lol!!
