HRH Prince of Wales created Duchy Originals in 1990 due to his belief in the clear advantages of organic farming; the production of natural and healthy foods and sound agriculture which helps to regenerate and protect the countryside and wildlife.
Dwarf Bean Contare are excellent in green salads or as a side dish and are a high yielding variety with dark green pods - which grow to around 11cm in length. These beans have good disease resistance.

Sow May to July outdoors directly into rich well prepared soil in a sunny spot. Sow 3 or 4 seeds together 4cm deep allowing 20cm between each group of seeds in the row and 45cm between rows. These seeds are also ideal for growing in large pots and containers. When growing hoe regularly and keep watered adding mulch during hotter dry periods. Harvest June to October and pick pods regularly whilst young for heaviest yields and to extend the season.
