The first photo was taken on 28 June

The second photo taken today.

This was a supermarket bargain some years ago … definitely a worthwhile purchase.

Beautiful tree, Shirley, in its autumn colours! I'm glad you remember to post a picture of this lovely tree!

I don't have anything on the balcony, other than Pansies, for autumn colour but I'm taking photos of the tree around here that are changing colour, unfortunately the wind is blowing the leaves off of some of the trees before I can take a photo! 😪

Was so taken by the change of colour of your lovely acer that have treated myself to a small one as I’m very keen to create more autumn colour in the garden. Having said that I have still got lots in flower in the garden like black eye susan, cosmos, snapdragons, asters, calendula, nasturtiums to name but a few. Thank you for sharing, it has resulted in another addition to my garden!

Looking lovely, Shirley! I do love acers in autumn, they seem to excel in this season don’t they!

Sandra, it was in a smaller, terracotta pot for some years, and across the other side of the garden where it sadly suffered from wind burn. I potted it on to this bigger, plastic pot until I bought a decent frost proof one (still to do that!) and moved it over to the East facing side, so it gets the morning sun and is shaded from mid afternoon onwards. Blimey, that's possibly too much information ... :o)

Not at all ,Shirley, that's very helpful .Where I have my Chimney pot on the patio is east facing, and the sun goes over the Bungalow to the front in the afternoon,so sounds ideal.Depending on the size I buy, I know I will have a pot suitable..don't we usually ?? Lol Thank you. :o)

Sandra, just to say that the best two Acers I have bought came from the supermarket 'Mo......s' as small specimens ... :o)

I bought a sprig of an acer, called ‘Lace Lady’ from Lidl a while ago. Think it was £4.99. Wanted to see how it got on in my garden. It is now growing into a little tree and am now happy that I can grow them here in the north Shropshire windy & wet winters. Seen lovely mature trees but they are so expensive! Looking forward to receiving my acer ‘orange dream’ and adding to my collection.

Wow lovely, love the autumn colours :-)

Ams, 'Lady Lace' looks to be a dark plummy colour, sadly the dark ones don't seem to like my garden pots as I have lost a couple over the years. No rhyme or reason to it. I am pleased yours is thriving!
