MY PLANTS

Well here in KwaZulu Natal we are experiencing a severe drought. Despite a few good downpours the situation is dire and we have been on water restrictions for about a year. My garden is being watered by bucket system, using our used bath water and dirty floor cleaning water. I think the drought did the roses good, as after some decent rainfalls, they are looking lush and leafy. and budding. Will post some pics when i get time.
I feed them with commercial foliar spray, and rosecare. I just make up a spray bottle and spray all my plants.
I am trying to establish a bird corner, with bird feeder, bird bath and mostly indigenous stuff.
I really enjoy gardening and am fortunate to live in KwaZulu Natal which has moderate temperatures and usually good rainfall.

Its a pity we can't send you some of our rain - in November here it just goes on and on, usually with strong wind at the same time, which is what I can see through the window right now. I guess you'll have some spectacular birds on your feeders once they are organised - photos please!

Gardening seems to be about doing the best you can with the weather you get. I'm glad to know your roses are surviving the drought.
I hope you get some rain soon. It must be unpleasant on water restrictions for such a long time.

Your garden won't mind if the water is dirty, you are doing your best for it, I too would willingly send you some rain, when reading blogs from different parts of the world it makes me thankful for what I have, although its an english persons right to moan about the weather, its a conversation starter and I guess it always will be...
Welcome to Goy, I look forward to seeing some photo's of your garden....
