The Garden Community for Garden Lovers

Bye for now, but I'll be back soon!

We are packing our bags for a few days in the Picos de Europa, an area which sounds absolutely beautiful. Stunning mountain scenery, wildflower meadows and deserted beaches . . . that will do nicely!

I took this photo from the bedroom window, so that I can be reminded of the lovely Azaleas, which might be over by the time we return from our holiday. I’ll miss all our chats (and most of the Chelsea coverage – that’s a shame), but will look forward to catching up when we get back.

Hope you will all get some warm sunshine SOON. x

If I had got plants like that in my garden I would stay here !

Beautiful plants Sheila. Are they growing in a special ericaceous raised bed? My bit of Hertfordshire has alkaline soil.

Hope you have a lovely holiday.

Thank you all for your lovely comments! And yes, it looks as though summer is finally coming to the UK . . so you'll be enjoying warm sunshine too - phew.

Hi Jaykaty - yes, that's a special raised bed for ericaceous-loving plants that we made when we first moved here, because we wanted a Pieris 'forest flame', and now it's been joined by Azaleas from my mum, and an Acer. Our soil here is alkaline/neutral.
