Adverts on GoY

Hi Everybody. This is Dave from the GoY office.
Firstly thanks to everybody who takes the time to flag blogs. I try to respond appropriately but of late there have been a lot of flags relating to unwanted adverts.
Firstly can I point out that Google control the introduction and placement of adverts on GoY. We have no control of this. However of late they have changed their methods and seem to be introducing adverts into member’s blogs which look as if the member is pushing the advert. This is confusing and some blogs have been wrongly flagged as a result. Normally I would delete members who blatantly advertise their own business and will continue to do so. However with the latest Google practice I have make a judgement before I delete anybody. Please carry on flagging but if I cancel your flag please understand why even if I have made a mistake. As I have said we have no control over Google in this regard, we will try to negotiate to stop their practice but they are all powerful.

I suspected it was all down to Google but thanks for letting us know.

So now do I not only need a spade, shovel and trowel to maintain my garden; I find that I constantly need a broom, dustpan, mop and bucket to clean the adverts from the members blogs so I can enjoy what they have been doing without interruption. There used to be a time and place for such adverts on this site but now it’s anytime and anyplace...google is,intentionally or not, chopping GOY to pieces. Too bad for there will be both new and old members who will not have the patience for what is going on and leave GOY.

They are irritating popping up within members blogs.I can see how this could put people off joining infact there is very little input on here these days....maybe this could be the reason. The site has diminished quite a lot.
