on frozen pond...Pembroke castle mill pond ..

our gently flowing mill pond has to pass through a wier. the top of the water has frozen…the poor swans have only a small patch of unfrozen water…and some of them are having difficulty landing…

there is plenty of un frozen water on the other side of the wier but this is where everybody goes to feed them. today they were joind by a small flock of redshanks..i think…

back home at the nursery things are different today…after a lovely cold but sunny day yesterday its snowing again. with more forcast. we have waved our eldest daughter Rosie off back to uni in Abberystwyth a few days early , just in case…she should report in about 4ish….mother panic……;-}}

the plants on the nursery have been under a thin blanket of snow for a week now. most of whats outside are fairly hardy and should cope……..

the cacti in the grow shed seem fine….but time will tell…..
the aeoniums i wrapped up seem fine to…there are a few fallers already…the money pant and the aloes are not happy . but i have brought a lot of them into the house…sort of insurance …just in case.

the chickens seem happy 4 eggs today from 5 hens,….
the cattle and sheep are in the fields next door. the farmer comes to see to them each day.

it is great to see daffs pokeing through the soil..our terriers blodwyn and her dad reggie have been romping around outside all day. the other terrier …mam ruby is not as happy and is cuddled up on the settee with me. whilst my youngest daughter Lilly was outside taking the pics….these are her new boots

while my mad husband Julian is desperately trying to finish the the greenhouse so we can sow the seed for the tomatoes…

nearly there……..;-))

Hi Sandra.Feel sorry for the waterfowl ....like the two swans cuddling together as if for warmth. Also feel sorry for the farmers...some have a real struggle getting food and water to their flocks and herds...

tractors been up and down the lane today brining food for the stock next door...

Icy and snowy driving is a worry for anyone...no matter the age. My children all commute so much in all weather, it would keep me worrying night and day if I let it...she must be a very good driver all ready..she is doing well..
