Its bleak out there!!!

Having let the dentist abuse my mouth yesterday I am inside feeling a bit worse for wear!!! It looks sooo bleak out there i think i will resume hibernation for the day. So I thought I would introduce you to my neighbours .

Our valley floods each winter and we enjoy watching the birds on the water through the binoculars.

There is a battle going on between the farmers and the National Trust about the water…The National trust own the land to the right and want to encourage the wild life…but this causes flooding of farm land further up the valley. We love the floods!!!

I am not the only one who wants to be inside today!!

The sheep don’t seem to care.

So I though I would share a piece of cake with the birds.

Lots of little lovelies battling the wind for a share….but suddenly every one hopped onto a nearby yew tree…Why?

or should i say Jackdaws…They nest in one of our chimneys and I love to watch them in the garden.

They didn’t stay long at each visit to the table and each time the left the little lovelies hopped back on…

Hope you are all staying warm with not too much snow..:-)

I spent most of yesterday watching the birds through the windows as they were going mad at the feeders, realised we were in for some snow as even had a visit from the pied wagtail, he only comes to my patio when the snow is around, at other times I usually only see them on the road and the retail carpark which is just down the road from us, pleased to say most of the snow has disappeared but the ice is lingering in places, I've only been out to feed the birds and check my g'houses...
You are doing the right thing staying indoors Sandra as its so easy to get neuralgia after vising the dentist during the winter months, not a nice place to pay a visit at any time of the year is it, stay warm and carry on with the bins and the camera, I hope you are feeling better soon.....

Lovely, Pam!

Brr Sandra, it looks very bleak and chilly - snapping birds through the window seems just the right occupation for a day like that. We've had no sun at all today but now there are a few pretty pink clouds getting ready for sunset. Lets hope its red sky at night, shepherds delight.
Sadly they faded as I was writing that, alas.
