after a couple of days cat sitting for my daughters cat Lars we drove the 30 miles from carmarthenshire into pembrokeshire and home to angle today. tried to capture the colours of autumn as we traveled home.and no i wasnt doing the driving..lol

i think this was mist coming up the estuary.

the beech and the maples were glowing in the sunshine in between the showers.

very little traffic here in the winters but you can always count on a tractor or 2 to slow things down….

Elim chapel

this road leads west from Llanddowror to Red roses and is surrounded by the oak wood we had our daughters wedding in this summer. there is a by-pass being built around this beautiful place which will preserve it for generations to come.:-)

thought you might like to share..x

Reassuring to read that you weren't driving and photographing at the same time ;o)

The autumn colours are beautiful !
I love the journey west from Carmarthen. That bit between Llanddowror and Red roses is lovely through all those trees. Have you seen all the snowdrops there in the early part of the year along that little stream ? Millions of them (well there were last time I went there)
I always thought Elim chapel looked creepy lol.
I bet you were glad to get home ;o)

i love all the snow drops Hywel they always excite me signaling the beginning of spring. i lived in the cafe with the big car park to east for some of my teenage years so i know the area well. Elim chapel has always un-nerved me. i used to ride my bike to my friends house passed it...to dangerous to ride a bike there now...the by-pass is coming along well, many lives and the village of Llanddowror will be saved by it . but it will be a while before its finished.

I didn't know they were making a bypass there. I haven't been there for a long time. Llanddowror is so pretty.
I know that cafe with a car park. Didn't realise you lived there. You must have been there when I used to pass it :o)

the by pass will run from just before Llanddowror to the other side of red roses. i lived there in the late 70s but have friends in the area and get to revisit often.

There used to be a nice garden centre near Red Roses - turn right at the cross roads, towards Tavernspite. I don't know if it's still there. They used to have lots of Fuchsias :o)

yes its still there though i'm sure i don't know how they survive. no passing trade in fact i always get lost trying to find it..lol lovely place though

I'm glad it's still there. We'll have to try and find it again next year. Pitty it's so far off the beaten track ....

i have a friend who lives near there so it always an excuse to pop in.

Hywel just blame your fuchsia addiction...

Lijemc the light was changing all the time. through rain storms and bright sunshine that made you eyes hurt. i just love the way it effects the feeling in a picture.

Bampy happy to oblige.

no Dotty its my little pocket one...just pointed and pressed as we traveled. made me dizzy looking through them as most were out of focus due to the bumpy roads.....lol
