So there are things still flowering in my garden!

When I looked at the blogs from certain member’s gardens , I didn’t think anything was happening in mine, obviously too busy painting! Lol.
So one morning I decided to have a walk round the garden and this is what I saw….

bedding begonias, I’m amazed they’re still here.

Hellibores Grandiflora, I’m hoping I’ve got the name right.

Christmas box, the flowers from this shrub have a beautiful perfume.

The rudbeckia doesn’t seem to know its only a bedding plant !

One new flower on Sexy Rexy

This hydrangea has decided to start flowering again.

And so has this.Do they know its December!

Viburnham tinus in flower …

…and in berry. This shrub is really useful for those of you who like to do flower arranging, I even put stems in my christmas wreath.

One lonely little viola!

This Hydrangea is at the right stage for drying for those of you into flower arranging.Stand it in a vase with just a drop of water and leave. It will eventually dry and will last until you actually get fed up with it.

Cheerful winter Jasmine.
I came back in the house feeling quite cheered up after seeing what was out there.I went to put these pictures up onto the computer when I looked out the window and saw the pheasants. Please don’t any of you say christmas dinner!

Happy Christmas everyone.

Thank you Rose and Happy Christmas to you ...

Yes, one of the many good things about GoY, is it inspires us to go out with our cameras and see what's flowering, even in the cold weather..

Sexy Rexy is super and I love that little viola and the hydrangeas continuing to flower, despite the winter weather ... :o)

Lovely blog Rose. Still lots of life and colour in your garden! I've got loads of those hellebores, they keep appearing all over the place. The thing is, I've never planted one, so must have been a pressie from the birds!

Aren't the pheasant's gorgeous?! How are you at painting birdies? They would be very difficult I imagine! It's lovely to find those little jewel of flowers in all this bad weather, I'm staggered to see the begonias, they haven't even been touched by frost!
I see you've got some Christmas box, I had some in a pot in our last house, and you could smell it through the whole garden, it's fantastic! Tiny little flowers like wee white stars, I'll just have to get another one... :0)x

oh i meant to ask about the christmas box ~ how long have you been growing it for?

How lovely Rose, I'm so glad you were inspired to go and have a look...your own 'treasure hunt'! That viola made me smile. I have a few winter ones in flower, but every single bloom has been nibbled at the edges....slugs or earwigs no doubt :( Yours, however, is just perfect! :) Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Hywell for your message, and I'm pleased you enjoyed seeing the flowers.Stickie, I've had the christmas box for about 5 years now and its in a small raised bed and doesn't get much sunlight .Its near the back door so there is a lovely scent wafting into the house. Thanks Breda for your lovely comments, I hope you're better now.Thankyou Joanella for your comments too.Karen, the little viola is in a window box so is safe from slugs. As yours is one of the gardens i saw , I should be thanking you for getting me out into the garden.
So Elizabeth, I'm talking to you tonight. I bet you're thinking why am i still on the computer this late! Going up with the tea soon! I had enough trouble getting the bench right so there's no way I could paint the pheasants. I think Maddison would do much better! lol.I've put the C.Box flowers in the house but the perfume is so strong it actually brings on a headache so I don't think you should think about doing that.
