How long do I have to leave the plant before I cut it down after the petals drop?

Answers
I leave some species ones alone so that I can collect and sow the seeds. The seed cases themselves are quite decorative, bright red inside with shiny black seeds.

You can remove the flowering stems once the flowers have gone.
