I have just shelled some runner beens for next years planting. One pod of seeds are comleatly jet black,i have never seen this in over 30 years of collecting seeds.

When my old dad was alive he always saved his runner bean seed from Scarlet Runner. He would always save the seeds from the pods which had seven or eight seeds. After a few years of saving the scarlet and black speckled seeds they would all become black.
