I have planted out my foxgloves for next year and lots of lavender...but am I right in thinking penstemons should wait until next spring to be planted out ? Thanks for any advice.

If the Foxgloves are small then keep an eye on them as slugs will eat them to nothing, esp given this years bumper crop of slugs.

Penstemons you can put out but I would keep them in a pot, again to try and protect them from slugs etc and you can shelter them if the winter is bad.

Thanks for your thoughts....fox gloves are the only thing in my garden that the slugs don't eat ; ))) I have decided to keep penstemons safe in pots ready to put in the greenhouse if the temperature plummets and I will plant them out next spring.

How do I say thanks?
