can I plant CORA Vinca in a bed that previously had other (non cora) vinca that died?

I have a bed that had all of the regular vinca's wilt and die - do I need to ahnge the soil befoe planting Cora Vincas

Well something's going on in that bed, or with the micro-climate in that area. I see you're in the States, so don't know how cold it gets there. Vinca likes cool damp shade, so if they're in bright, hot and dry they won't like it. Otherwise, I'd question what's in the soil.
