Would not use it on bedding as they prefer a not too rich a soil to flower well. Certainly it is good for any perennial plants except possibly acid loving plants.

Thanks Owdboggy, I was going to put it at the base of roses but since I bought it I have put some bedding plants round that area so I will keep to one side for elsewhere when I clear an area. regards M.

I use it round roses and clematis, especially in early spring, and now as well, if I haven't any liquid feed.

When I prune any shrubs they get some round the root area.

I never put blood fish and bone on the top of the soil because cats love it and come along and do their business in it. Dogs also love it and try to eat it, so I always use it when I'm digging, specially in the bottom of a planting hole, but not otherwise.

I haven't had any trouble with cats - but I do have to keep an eye on Henry! I think the good it does outways any pet-problems, but I tend to rake it in a little to get over that.
