I think these are evergreen, so I think (don't know for certain mind) it may be dead.

If you scratch the woody stalks and the area under is brown then its dead im afraid

Thanks again sheila and Booboo.I cut off the deadwood and see small thin stems with new leaves sprouting..Fingers crossed they will survive

They're normally pretty strong. I have four different ones and they all keep their leaves all year round. Could be it's a different type (I dunno which ones mine are)
