the leaves on my new Pyrus Salicifolia appear to have been eaten

I bought it 4 weeks ago and planted it 2 weeks ago. Most of the leaves are gone except for a little bit - it looks as though they have been nibbled! Any ideas?

Any signs of pests, like slime trails to give you a clue?
I would spray it with soft soap solution if you are organic,or pest killer spray if you don't mind using chemicals.
