Are these first year Netty? Not many fruit much if they are and after about the third year they will possibly need replacing with new runners because they are exhausted. Cutting back won't help this year and could make it more difficult to grow new plants from runners.

I don't take leaves off as they hide the fruit from birds.... Mine are in a bed with flowers so don't get netted. I pin down the runners every year, bought the originsl plants about 8 years ago.... :) never get a bumper crop but wee one loves to tend them and pick the fruit.
