My acer tree has white marks on some of the leaves.It looks like a sprinkling of paint but bigger spots on some areas.Could some one tell me what is it.It's anew tree and has been in the pot for a week.

Its a japanese maple ,a reddy one.Ive never had one before.I bought the plant and noticed the white specs as I was planting it in the new pot but it wasnt on it at the garden centre.I have used the correct soil that the garden centre recomended.

Ive also noticed the edges of the leaves are curling white too,I take a picture tomorrow in day light

Red Acers are prone to sun scortching - am guessing that is the white freckles on yours. If you cannot see any sign of insects then it is likely that.
