How can I get rid of lawn chafer grubs (or similar)

This question has come up a few times in the past and a lot of research was done into it about the only possitive answer that came up was get a few chickens in a little ark with a run attached and move it every few days around your lawn. They will scratch them out whereas there is no spray or treatment that touches them. Your lawn may look untidy for this year but at least you wont have to buy eggs!!!! and if it does the trick!!! who's to fault it.
Seriously these are one big problem, if you have them the only other way is to dig them out and kill them. My cousen had them in her garden and they dug out over 90 and were still struggling.
