Bologna, Italy

I have a very beautiful, vibrant purple hazel bush/tree, about 4 years old (no nuts yet, but I'm not worried), and would love to propagate it. Has anyone any idea how I should best do this? The leaves have only just unfurled, and the new growth at the twig tips is as yet very short. I am assuming the way forward is via cuttings, but I have no idea when or how.
