Cercis 'Forest Pansy'

I've had this plant in my garden for about seven years, it was really beautiful but this year it has died. It's just sitting there withour any buds showing. Is there any reason that you know why it has given up please?

It has been a very cold winter, some plants will die after this. Don't give up on it until at least June as it may sprout from low down. trim off any dry twigs and keep your fingers crossed.
