I have a big ugly shed that I would like to cover , I have purchased 2 Clematis & also a Fallopia. I have just read a few things regarding the Fallopia. and I am now a little concerned that the Fallopia will over take the Clematis.....

Hi Newtoit - if you mean a Russian Vine then it is very likely to swamp the clematis even though they too will grow almost like weeds!

You need to check which of the Fallopia you have. There are a few. Japanese Knotweed is also one of the Fallopias and you certainly don't want that. Bindweed is also one.

If it's the Russian Vine, it will go crazy.

Poor Clematis! NOT a good idea.

If it's Russian Vine, just to give you some idea of its rate of growth:
1st year - it will cover the shed
2nd year - it will cover the garden
3rd year - it will cover the house
4th year - it will cover the street

Perhaps a slight exageration but it is not called 'Mile a Minute' for nothing

How do I say thanks?
