Hello friends we have in the front room a parlour palm it is touching the ceiling and looking poorly can i cut it down and repot it will it come back from the brink ?

Not necessarily - the only growing part of a palm like this is on the tip of a stem - if you cut back leaves, they will not grow again. If, though, you have new stems arising from the base which aren't very tall yet, you could cut everything else off and let those grow on.
