my dorychium hirutum is looking very sparse and sorry - any tips please

AKA Lotus hirsutum. Yes, mine was very poorly-looking after the winter. I potted it up and replaced it. When I was talking to the Nursery man, he told me that a lot of theirs had been looking sad as well - they had cut them hard back and all of them were now shooting out healthy shoots. I saw them in their polytunnel - true, they all were.

I came home and cut mine (in the pot) hard back, and BINGO! It is doing the same! So there's your answer.

Cut it back to any new shoots you can see - or little buds.
