clematis 'freckles'

Hi all! I want to grow clemetis freckles in a huge container, will it restrict its growth?

...and me, Moon, unless it's one of those tiny ones. I definitely wouldn't grow Freckles in a container - it needs space!

Reading what the RHS has to say http://www.rhs.org.uk/WhatsOn/gardens/hydehall/archive/hydehallpom05jan.asp I think it will be happier in the ground... personally I'd never plant any clematis in a container but that is just me.
