Our lawn has been previously treated with weed n feed; I was wondering how long before I can use the ground to plant fruit trees and vegetables?

Presumably you are removing the turf completely? In which case one you have properly cultivated the ground you can start sowing your seeds and planting the trees immediately. Just remember to dig the soil over well, in fact double dig if you can, and add lots of compost or other humus rich material.
