Best method is usually digging, ensuring you remove all the roots, but it does rather depend what they are. Ground elder and borage are better if sprayed with glyphosate a week before digging out - but they need to be growing strongly before spraying, so mid March onwards.

Also depends on whether there are just weeds or whether they are in amongst plants you want to keep. If the area is all weeds and nothing else and you don't want to dig it all over properly you can use glyphosate but it will work better if you wait until the weeds are growing more strongly as it is absorbed through the leaves. They take a couple of weeks or more to die off completely. The area will still need digging over afterwards though.

If they are amongst other plants you'll have to get them out by hand, pulling out the little ones and digging the big ones.

If they are Couch Grass dig thoroughly remove every clump, and pick out every little shoot thats left behind. Otherwise, all will grow.

The first lot of weeds seem to be two different types, the weeds are growing through red gravel in driveway, one weed is wispy with tiny clover like leaves and it grows just to height of gravel and spreads over, 2nd weed is in same place bu its more like a weed that grows up the way wit leaves branching off it, cant upload photo as im on ipad

Well if they're in the drive, use a weedkiller specifically for paths, such as Pathclear or Bayer Path Treatment. Mix with water and water on with a can fitted with a fine rose. Best done mid March onwards though.
