prune it now. I did mine on christmas day whilst waiting for lunch too cook. Its in the green house. I cut back most of the growth leaving 2 swollen buds on the 3 main stems that I have. Prune before the buds break. after then the plant loses lots of sap 'bleeding' and it can cause the plant to die.
