My paeonys are dry root and I wonder do they need a moist soil or not Is this the right time to plant them? I have a light loam type of soil. They are bare root waiting to be planted

I would get them planted asap. Their roots start growing very early in the season, before there any signs of new top growth. Don't feed now but give them a good dose of general fertiliser early next spring

they prefer a slightly damp rather than dry soil and not in full sun either. are they bare root waiting to go in the ground or already planted?
