These are the last of this year's crop - 45 lb taken off today. That makes a total this year of 131 lbs. Not bad eh? - can anyone beat that? lol

Thanks Pimpernel, Moon grower and Joanella. This time last year we had taken 177 lbs off the same trees, but we pruned them earlier this year as they were getting a bit out of control!

Wow! What will you do with them all?

Give them away!!!! Honestly, I do. I do a few crumbles with them myself, but basically I give most of them to friends and family by the carrier-full. To be honest, I'm not keen on apples but they were already in the garden when we bought this house.

Have you tried juicing them and making wine? Apple wine was the only one we ever made that was drinkable and it was lovely.

An elderly neighbour uses the ones I give him to make wine - it's very potent, blows yer head off! lol. Another neighbour makes apple pies which are sold for the local WI. My daughter makes chutney with some of the ones she gets. So all in all, everyone benefits from them.

I didn't expect much of a crop with the dry weather for so long but --like you we've had loads--and early too!

Wow. Enjoy that bumper crop. Don't make too much cider. We don't want drunk ramblings on here. LOL
