l have lost one or two of my small orchids, with a horrid stickiness that then turns white/meldewish. l now have a wonderful one with 41 blooms and l cam feel the dreaded sticky feeling. what can l do please

If so it sounds a little like scale insect maybe.......
However, a Phalaenopsis will secrete sap if it is too warm. This doesn't tend to lead to mildew though. Which makes me wonder if you have an orchid that is too warm and being overwatered, or maybe left in the ceramic pot that comes with some orchids.
Assuming of course that it is a Phal of course.

The white makes me wonder if it is mealybugs.
