too tall bay tree,

i have cultivated a bay tree in shape of a ball,however it has been growing in the ground in my garden and getting to tall for me to prune (its about 5 half ft at the mo)..can i stop it growing any taller somehow without harming it?im shrinking as i get older!!

Sweet bay will take any amount of pruning Eveningroses. It may look a bit misshapen for a while but just cut it down to the height you want and let grow and trim where necessary at the bottom to compensate.
