What has happened to the tips of my Tomato plant?

Can anyone tell me what has gone wrong woth the growing tip of my tomato plants? I have never seen this before.

If it is outside it could be frost damage. Mine were badly hit and I thought it was curtains for them but the side shoots have now grown up and I have cut off the dead leaves and it seems ok, just a bit of a funny shape.
