My Cupresses hedge has got big brown patches on it : Grows on You

My Cupresses hedge has got big brown patches on it, is it cupresses aphid or is it likely to be frost damage

So is mine,read somewhere that there is an aphid eating them and they need to be sprayed.

So is mine. As it's a leylandii hedge, it won't regrow, either. :-((
