I have some beautiful hordeum jubatum grasses in my garden but some of the flower heads have begun to look as if they have finished flowering-do I deadhead them? I have also noticed that some of the foliage has gone a little brown-is this normal,if not what should I do? Finally I just wanted to ask how many years on average they flower for?

I would, if they aren't pretty anymore, and that would help them to live longer. They are listed as a perennial, but that could mean anything from 3-20 years lifetime. I wouldn't be surprised if they are short-lived--they are an annual winter weed here in the desert.
