Could you advise, please, whether a shallow layer of ericaceous compost accidentally put in the bottom of a pot is likely to affect a cotoneaster Juliette?

Cotoneaster isn't a fussy animal anyway.

Many thanks to those of you whose replies to the query about my cotoneaster reassured me that it probably hasn't been harmed. (Husbands, eh!!!!)

Would have been best to mix it in with the other compost, but I don't think it'll have a dramatic effect on the plant - by the time the roots reach that bottom layer, most of the acidity will have leached out.
