Were you tempted to prune it to help it along? I made that mistake once before and had cut off the following year's flowering growth without realising it. I shy away from pruning it at all now and so it gets a chance to flower. And it needs heavy watering.

I pruned heavily ( cut down to 2ft) in April and my plants are now begining to blossom.
