Plant identification

North Yorkshire, United Kingdom Gb

Has anyone any idea what this plant is called. I inherited it about 4 years ago and keep it in my conservatory. It flowers in early Spring and is now getting too big for my largest container. Is it possible to split the roots?

It is very susceptible to downy aphid. What is the molst reliable cure. I would be grateful for any advice.

Hi Ron,

Its a Clivia miniuta-a lovely South African plant. You can divide the plant but they prefere to be rootbound. It will probably sulk and refuse to flower again for a few years if disturbed.

Hi Ron. Yes Clivia it is. Downy Aphid is easiest removed by using a paint brush and Methylated spirit. I use this on succulents and it does no harm,, but advise testing a small area first.

How do I say thanks?
