alstroemeria care.

I have a Alstroemeria in a pot. It flowered beautifully through summer and Autumn. I should have cut it down in the autumn which I didnt do.! Can I cut it down now, bring it indoors...? It's such alovely shrub, not want to lose it...!

Are you sure it is Alstroemaria, as it is not a shrub but a flowering perennial plant. I would just pull the old growth off(never cut old dead growth) and plant it in your garden. Once Alstoemerias have flowered even before they have died down just pull them out they come out easily, it seems to encourage new shoots through the season.
