What is the rate of growth of a common fig tree per year?

Answers
It depends partly on the variety, and partly on your climate, but most are considered underfed if they don't grow at least one foot a year. Here in the low desert, 'Black Mission', one of the more vigorous kinds, will grow 4 feet a year.
