Coleus..
I have searched high and low to buy one of my favourite plants (Coleus) Where i usually buy them has been took over by Barrets who arent supplying them, I tried online but, the only choice i have are the same as last year, and i wasn't happy with them, first batch died and only half the replacements survived! besides, they were tiny plug plants, supposed to be large plugs puh.. do any of you know of a good supplier please, please, please.

me too ...would love some...and have failed miserably (2 attempts from seed). I think Steragram advised against growing from seed...too fiddly..I never see any...in market or GC or offered on line

Must be 40 years since I grew these from seed. From memory I found that it was dead easy. But you do need to sow early and in a little heat to get decent sized plants.

Also of course they have changed the name now to Solenostemon scutellarioides

Anyhow...If you want some let me know ...and please let me know where I am going wrong..I think it was Owdboggy who said they were difficult from seed

I don't remember advising against growing from seed - I thought I said my mother had done it very successfully. Which she did. (Too idle go back and check)

I,ve grown Coleus from seed for two years now.
Sow in mid March and move to a frost free greenhouse
when germinated. I grew "Wizard Scarlet" from Fothergills. Coleus don,t seem to be fashionable just now so growing from seed is your best bet.
