My friends bleeding heart is three years old and is no where as tall as it should be. It also is not as strong as last year and only has one flower on it. It was grown from a root. Please help. Thanks.

And its real name is Dicentra, Boarder.
It's a border perennial and comes in pink and white varieties, you can also buy a dwarf version too which is lovely :-)

Most likely its suffering from drought, if the owner hasn't been watering.
