I live in Cyprus and early on I was given a jasmine plant that bore large, white flowers in clusters that had a heavenly scent. Workmen painting the outside of the house lifted the trellis off the wall and broke the plant off at the root. I waited to see if it would recover, but no, and I've never seen another in a nursery here since. I think it was a Trachelospermum Jasminoides - does this sound right to you? I shall be in the UK for 12 days fron end May and was planning to track this down and bring it back with me - I shall be staying in Surrey and Essex. Are there any nurseries you can recommend. Trachleospermum jasminoides is an evergreen, twining climber - has fragrant star shaped white flowers in summer, though the flowers are not particularly large. Perhaps you should google for pics before buying to make sure its the right plant. You shouldn't have trouble finding it here, but it is sometimes sold under its other name, Rhyncospermum jasminoides, or under its common name of Star Jasmine. RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) at Wisley is in Surrey, and they have a good garden centre there too.
